When Belotti Bottega opened its doors in 2016, my family and I eagerly flocked to this traditional Italian restaurant, curious to experience its culinary delights.
Little did we know that we had stumbled upon an establishment that would soon become a local institution and one of the Bay Area's top pasta destinations.
Even today, this unassuming hole-in-the-wall continues to serve the kind of pasta that inspires captivating stories. It exudes a cozy, intimate, and inviting ambiance reminiscent of the kitchens I had the pleasure of visiting in Italy.
I'm consistently amazed by the immense flavors that emerge from their compact kitchen—much like the one in my mother-in-law's apartment in Tirana, Albania, which was no larger than a six-foot by six-foot square.
During the pandemic, we turned to Belotti for delivery at least once a month, and the experience still managed to transport us back to the restaurant's welcoming embrace.

Belotti Bottega on College Avenue
At Belotti, you will find Italian cooking traditional to Piemonte, with a modern touch. You can find your classic Spaghetti Pomodoro with a fresh glob of burrata as a twist, and comforting pappardelle soaked in a reduced beef sauce, surrounded by mushrooms. It’s a place for locals, visitors from across the Bay, and most importantly, pasta lovers.

01 | BATTUTA
Ribeye dry aged beef tartare underneath truffle caviar, micro arugula, and a quail egg. A head turner if you ask me. Great appetizer for two people to share.
02 | LATTUGA
Living butter lettuce topped with pinenuts and lemon dressing. A lovely citrus starter to kick off your meal.
03 | BELOTTI ANTIPASTO
Mixed salumi and cured meat accompanied with fruit, nuts, cheese, and crostini. This is a must-have for groups large than 4.
04 | PAZZA IDEA
Have you ever eaten a pasta dish inspired by pizza? This is it. Pizzaiola filling within cappellacci pasta, surrounded by bread crumbs and raw tomato sauce. The bread crumbs paired with the creamy sauce and bouncy cappellacci ignite an enchanted melody in your mouth that foodies can only dream of. Some dreams do come true when it comes to pasta.
05 | PAPPARDELLE AL FUNGHI
These silky ribbons come served in a beef reduction that tastes like it was made in your grandma’s kitchen. The hen of wood mushrooms adds extra texture, flavor, and earthiness, making this one of my all-time favorite dishes.

Yes. Find their pasta shop on Piedmont Avenue. For those, who prefer to dine in, avoid the lines or even cook fresh pasta at home, you can pick it up at their Belotti Bottega location.
DOES BELOTTI OFFER CATERING?
Yes. Belotti also caters within a 6-mile radius of the restaurant for groups larger than 10.
