Visitors are invited to indulge in the very essence of Portugal's rich history, all within an elegantly made space that radiates tranquility.

Shifting away from the conventional notion of "courses" to embracing "moments," Feitoria sheds the traditional stiffness of fine dining and replaces it with captivating experiences. This is manifested through immersive creations that seem to come to life in a remarkably organic and otherworldly manner. The dining experience here doesn't just tantalize the taste buds; it also evokes a satisfying sense of pleasure taken from nature.

In contrast to many Michelin-starred establishments, where service can often come across as rigid, the Feitoria team displayed a friendly demeanor. I even witnessed servers sharing camaraderie and laughter backstage, assisting each other with outfit adjustments, much like a close-knit family. By the 6th Step, I naturally found myself seated cross-legged, reminiscent of how I might sit at my own dining table at home.

The uniqueness of this initial step lies in its adept guidance through the textures, colors, and tastes of ingredients sourced from both land and sea.

The immediate attention-grabber: cured ham wrapped around hand-sized bread sticks, adorned with precisely trimmed chives, followed by upright sea greens in a dew-kissed stone cup.

The interpretation of nature was distinctly evident, a central objective of Chef Andre Cruz.

Here's a heads-up: the pivotal first stage of the six unfolds with four delectable, bite-sized delights. Therefore, when you decide on the 6-course tasting menu, rest assured it encompasses that and a touch more.

House-made bread, infused with a medley of nuts, is designed to be savored throughout the 6 steps. While the temptation to enjoy the bread as a standalone course is strong due to its delightful flavor and softness, it serves both as a palate refresher and a means to soap up sauces from each course.

Garden and blue lobster

While the dish evoked the sensation of being enveloped in a floral perfume, it also revolutionized the concept of relishing lobster.

Soft and briny, with a delicate smoky undertone, the dish defied any notion of fishiness. Typically, seafood carries an aroma that's not always pleasant to the senses, yet the addition of floral accents and the sauce's nuanced flavor contributed a romantic effervescence to the dish.

Codfish, potato and truffle

Despite its Michelin-star status, Feitoria remains true to showcasing local Portuguese ingredients. A standout example is their codfish dish, nestled in a bed of potato puree and topped with caviar. Unlike many cod dishes I encountered across Lisbon, which often were overcooked and lacked flavor, Feitoria's rendition shines with impeccably cooked fish. It naturally absorbs the soothing essence of potato and the briny notes of caviar, resulting in a culinary experience flavored with ingredients from the land and sea.

Sea stew

With an otherworldly appearance, the Sea Stew deconstructed the conventional image of a pot seafood stew. It transformed this notion into not only an artistic masterpiece but also an experience where each ingredient was savored. The highlight of this dish was undoubtedly the broth, which carried the authentic essence of seawater, as if crafted in your grandmother's kitchen.

Meat, salsify, chocolate, kombu and black garlic

Combining chocolate and meat is always a good idea. As the primary meat course within the sequence of six steps, it becomes a playful challenge to locate the tiny fragment of white chocolate. Can you find it? The brilliance of this meat mosiac lay in the exploration dipping the meat into the colorful and earthy flavors creatively spread across the plate.

Cherry from Fundao, chili pepper, chocolate and hazelnut

Dessert is presented through three distinct delights. One of the most imaginative elements is the decoration of the cream dessert, surrounded with fresh greens resembling a delicate wreath. Additionally, the incorporation of chili pepper into the delicate ice cream awakens the palate, offering a refreshing contrast after the preceding indulgence in ingredients from both land and sea.

The tasting menu options at Feitoria vary based on your selection, ranging from €150 to €180 per person. Opting for the suggested wines would entail an additional cost of €80. Given the exceptional quality, artistry, and service of the restaurant, I would gladly invest in this experience again. From this standpoint, the price truly offers remarkable value.
